First Day Absence Procedure

 

It is the parent/carer’s responsibility to ensure that their contact details and numbers are up-to-date and to advise the school if their child is absent (or will be late arriving) for any reason.

If a child is absent from school for any reason, parents are expected to contact the school prior to 9.15 a.m.

If no call has been received and the child is absent, the office staff will ring the first named person on the child’s contact list.

If they are unable to speak to that person, a message will be left.

*

If it is not possible to leave a message, the office will try and make contact either through a text message or the next person on the contact list.

If the school is aware that a child may usually walk or cycle to school unaccompanied, they will endeavour to make contact with someone on the contact list.
